FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

Count me in, and it's true you can't listen to too many kinds of music. If you think surf music is weird enough that it's hard to solo to, you'll die when you play cross-key jazz. BTW I'll need some kind of confirmation that you got my file mkay wattage?

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

Man I've listened to this ten times already and the more I hear it the more I love it great riffs, possible tab please, if not I try and just figure out the riffs my self.

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

I am gone until late tonight I'll try and tab it out in the AM. Didn't receive anything if you sent it out already.

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

Thanks so much for doing this Wattage!

If I'm not too late, and there's still room for it, I've just e mailed you a one take thing I bashed out. If it's too long or there are no spots to fill anymore then no probs, I'll jump on the next one in time :)

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

Not too late at all. I got it and it sounds fantastic!

Keep 'em coming guys. I'll learn how to mix yet!

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

Wattage. Will you let us know whose you've got? Otherwise we'll never know until it's too late.

Wattage, who's playing on that backing? I totally dig the rhythm guitar sound!

Me  Thanks!!!

There are 2 guitars; one channel is my new Melody Maker, can't tell you how much I love that guitar, the other side is my lefty Strat, both are running into a Boss Amp Factory (Tweed setting - tweaked a bit different for each) right into my SB Audigy card in the PC. I use Guitar Tracks Pro 2.0 and I used the software parametric EQ to tighten it up a bit, low pass filter setting.

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

I didn't realise it was you on the backing, Wattage, wish I could play rhythm guitar like that.
This is gonna be the funniest jam as no-one even knows what anyone else has done.

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

I can't wait to hear what everybody came up with. I don't think my licks quite go with the song, but I'll let you guys be the judge. :D

Sounds great, I love that real wiry sound you get when doing that bass-style riff. The Amp Factory scores on this one! I might have to go take a look at one of the Melody Makers. I never even picked one up because they look like they're not serious. Being too judgemental I guess, a P90 on a slab of mahognay works every time :D

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

My ISP's mail server is down this AM, hopefully it is only for a short while, if you are trying to get something to me today there may be some issues. I will reply by email when I receive your clips.

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

I have a bit of time before rehearsal today, so I'm going down to the sutdio early and working on my contribution to the jam today.

Re: FORUM JAM - Surf is up!

Email is backup, send 'em if you got 'em.

I'll take stuff for another day or 2 so don't worry I won't cut anyone off if I can help it.
