I think it's cool. I haven't used one of their necks before, but my strat was made with one of their bodies and it's the nicest 2 piece swamp ash body that I've ever seen....to date. Quality was outstanding. I'd expect nothing less from one of their necks.

i like those, but i hate that they call them "fossilized." fossilized maple would literally be rock but otherwise they're pretty cool. i think it's just like ernie ball's roasted neck process. definitely a cool look.

It definitely looks cool, but I'm not sure what they mean by "fossilized" either. It's not actually a fossil, so how is it made?

I have used one of their necks as well. I have no idea what they are using there or doing to the maple. It isn't fossilized that I can tell but I obviously haven't handled one either. I would like to know more about this.

Fossilized maple would technically be petrified wood which is basically rock.

Guys, there was a thread on this not long ago - it's also called "roasted" or "vulcanized" maple (EBMM/Suhr, respectively).

Ok, I guess fossilized isn't the best of terms though.

I have a table and soon a bed made of that stuff... pretty amazing looking and smelling as well before it's all varnished.
