Found an old body I sold

Re: Found an old body I sold

too bad, cause I didn't do anything wrong.

(look to who I'm talking to... the people who invaded Iraq and Afghanistan are talking to me about ethics and proper behavior; hilarious!).

I think you took it a little too far there, man. :bsflag:

Me crazy? no, not really. I'm European, and more predominantly, Dutch.

@guitarkid: too far? no, not really. Calling me crazy and naming an undesirable action after me is crazy, considering I didn't do anything wrong. Morally and technically.

I think insulting ALL OF AMERICA might be too far. Besides, call it an honor to have something named after you on the forum.

Was it unethical or improper to invade continental Europe on June 6, 1944?

Re: Found an old body I sold

we don't get to make decisions like that anyway.... (invasion of normandy, iraq, afghanistan) Elected asswipes do.

It's called a republic, the US isn't a democracy like Greece, it's a republic like Rome where the powerful just do what they want in the name of the people, and the people pretend like they're playing a role in the way things play out because they 'elected' people in hopes that they will do as they promised.

I just think it's funny when those from other countries pin the blame of bad political decisions on America, when Americans didn't play a role in making the decision to begin with. The only real mechanisms of control we have over our representatives includes- lobbying while in office (for the extremely wealthy) or voting them INTO office.(should cut the political convo !!!)

Yes, I agree, let's not get banned for talking politics. Also, please cut out the profanity, please. Orpheo's implication was about ethics. And his error was not only a logical fallacy regarding ethics, which you and others have done a nice job of pointing out, but one of stereotyping an entire people group. Some people might even call such a statement bigotry.

So that was something that he did wrong, both morally and technically.

Re: Found an old body I sold

But back on topic. I dont want that old body as much as I thought I did. I almost quite literally willed it back into my existence.
I had hyped it up so much in my mind since I lost it and began to idealize it and that now that I have it again..the idea of it I had played up in my mind was much greater than the actual thing itself..if that makes any remote sense.

Buyer's remorse, essentially?

That's what keeps me from buying more gear. I have 5 guitars, all of which need "perfecting" in some way, that is I'd like to mod them out, but haven't the time. And then to buy more guitars, that will need perhaps more project time?

And sorry for my previous diversion; I couldn't let that smarmy response go unanswered. :D

Re: Found an old body I sold

One last remark: you CHOOSE your government, you CHOOSE the people to represent you. ERGO: you chose to invade. Normandy was a whole different story because the US has been attacked by a German ally in '41 (Pearl Harbor). Al Qaida wasn't in iraq, and the whole "Wapens of Mass Destruction' was a hoax to begin with, it was all a rouse to claim the oil in the Iraqi soil, exactly as Uday described it, 20 years prior. Rome wasn't a democracy because it had too many electable bodies, with too few electees. The democracy in Greece is even more laughable (to current standards) because the 'Greek democracy' (only in Athens, by the way!) was only for the FREE MEN, comprising just and about 10-15% of the entire population. In the USA, all adult Americans can vote. That you chose (!) to have that weird system that someone who doesn't even have the majority can still love (I only know the dutch word, sorry), is your own choice.

Wow, if you wanna beat someone who isn't even on his own home turf, get your story straight, guys.

@metalmaniac: if you have bought that body and wanna get rid of it, drop me an email. I'll be happy to get it off your hands for the price you paid on ebay.

America was at war because it was attacked by a German ally, Japan. December 7, 1941. Japan's attack was an act of war, an act of aggression against the up-to-then neutral US of A. After the attack the USA had no choice but to participate in the war. Al qaida attacked the USA, but not Afghanistan or Iraq or Vietnam. There was no mandate to invade, nothing except paranoid fear and/or economical reasons. Normandy was retaliation.

Guys, learn your history. Your OWN national history, with the emphasize on foreign affairs.

Anyone else see this as unsurprising? Way to support your own forum meme!
