"Four on the Floor" is Done

This is my disclaimer: I was very ambitious about this project, but right at the end I ran out of gas. You'll notice that the knobs are not labled because I know what they are and don't really care to spend any more time. This was a blast to build, but there again towards the end I got burned out. The pedal sounds great and works better than I thought it would. My wiring is somewhat sloppy, but given that I had no more room I don't really care. Can yall tell I am pooped after this one? I even gouged the paint really hard in 2 or 3 places :smack: I was really upset about that!

It really did turn out better than my skills should allow so I am happy! Now I have an all in one analog effects Grab-n-go box for small gigs!

I must have missed this before - what are the actual effects boards? Did you populate & solder them?

Re: "Four on the Floor" is Done

The effects from right to left are an 808 clone, chorus, tremelo and delay.

EDIT: And yes I did populate the boards myself!

Nice job, bro. Looks great. If you get a lot of excess noise, try cleaning up the wiring a little bit. It'll help. But I've seen worse. ;) That's good work.

Re: "Four on the Floor" is Done

And I so dig that colour by the way:D

The color that everyone thought was silver from the pic below was actually a dark metallic grey. The lighting from the pic made it looks silver. Anyways it was too boring so I misted it with purple and couldn't be happier. If anyone is wondering how we did the logo that's a cool story. My buddy owns an engraving shop and they have a $20,000 laser engraver!! I painted the box and took it to Andrew and he laser engraved through the paint to bare metal and whala you have a cool logo!

Luckily it is nice and quiet! Normally I would stand for such sloppy wiring, but DANG BRO it was difficult in that tight space!

Cool. The wiring up is the most tedious but one of the most important parts, IMO. It takes lots of patience. Try stuffing a Rangmaster clone in to a MXR size box. :eek13: :yell: :laugh2: Talk about tight space....sheesh.

I hear ya bro!! In all seriousness I would love to let Rid wire up this exact box and then study his method in order to learn from his placement and build technique.

I really am proud of this box especially know how impatient I can be sometimes. I really think if I built another it would be even crazier!!

Re: "Four on the Floor" is Done

Cool work, Greg. That really does look like it was a pain to squeeze everything into. Glad you got it to fit.
