FoxRox Captain Coconut 2

Alittle vid....going through a few sounds....

Re: FoxRox Captain Coconut 2

Those things are so great. A coworker has one and he pimped it out with nicer caps and it is just a glorious sounding box. Each effect kicks ass - you can't say that about many multi-effects.

Destined to be a classic, IMO.

Well depends on what one thinks sounds good....but if your mate likes it, then it is cool!!
But stuff like this really should not be too over the top perfect...
And it is not like it was third rate parts Dave used for these.

Agrees about it being a modern classic too.

Yeah I didn't mean to infer that Dave's build was somehow inferior - it's just my buddy went through certain parts of the individual circuits and optimized certain caps for his own personal preference. He has the ability to voice his effects for certain amps that he uses them with and that's all I meant by it.

We do a LOT of blind audio testing of components when we develop a circuit - it's amazing the differences that exist between caps of the same value but differ in construction. In many instances, the more expensive caps don't sound or perform any better (or sometimes worse) than the cheaper ones do.

Hehe yeah!
Did not thought that either really....was just taken by surprise for a moment!
Combinations of caps, the usual ceramic, metalfilm, poly, is for sure something that can produce good results, I whole hearthy agree:)

Love your new Echorec thing by the way, once the it has settled down some, I wanna buy one...love that sound it has!
