:laugh2: you know KNOW ya mentioned it i THINK maybe the black poles may have a more dark tone:laugh2: :beerchug: :beerchug:

alright now that we got the jokes out
check this out one guy i talked to SWORE the chrome poles had a brighter tone
he emailed DMZ and asked me and everything else and we all told him NO DIFFERENCE!
he SWORE that the chrome ones did make a difference though:rolleyes:
I told him it is his pschy foolin with him that IF he were blindfolded and did not know which i had put in the pro(chrome or black) he would not be about to decern each from another?
he said yes i could!:smack:
I said FINE! ENOUGH of this!
use the chrome ones then!!!!!:laugh2:

Re: Fred/PAF Pro Combo...

Has anyone tried substituting screw polepieces for the hex polepieces in the Fred? Wouldn't that add some beef (ala the 59/Custom hybrid) to the tone?

Wouldn't that make it possibly muddier too?? DOesn't the FRED have a lot of mids already?

Re: Fred/PAF Pro Combo...

Sounds like a winning combo, Butch! I think I'll give it a shot in my EBMM Axis :beerchug:

yeah that will add some output and make the pup smoother(less presence and attack)
I will give it a go when i get my fred from "deadskinslayer3" and let you guys know how it sounds:beerchug:

Re: Fred/PAF Pro Combo...

I don't think this pickup could be muddy if you tried to make it that way. I had to adjust my amp settings and bring the highs down a bit. In fact, I'm EQing the amp much like my old Tele settings.
