Free pups to good home!

Ok, here is the deal. I have at least two sets of strat pups out of some Road Worn strats, two Road Worn Tele neck pups, and one Tele bridge pup.

Show me the project they will go in and tell me (us) why you deserve (almost) free pick ups. No "dibs" to end up on ebay in a month.

You paypal me $6 to cover Priority Mail shipping and that is it.

I may have some others that I can add to this, but I have to go thru my pup box.

They would go in this which is my first partscaster build. Why I deserve them? Because Im one of the few women on this board who care enough and love music enough to build a guitar. They would def not end up on ebay. Id wire them up and solder them in myself. Then play the heck out of em. Plus, this one is a tribute strat to my mother who I lost to cancer in 08. The back says "save the boobies" and the front will have a pink ribbon with "fight like a girl" going across top of the body of the strat.

We have our first worthy winner!

Ok, one set of strat pups are for sure Road Worns, and the other set is from a Hwy 1.

One set has new creme covers I will toss in, and the other has a mix/match set of covers.

Which set would you like, and do you need covers loversmoon?

That's cool, man!

I have no Strat projects going right now, and I already have the pickup for my Esquire build that's almost done, so I can't play. But good luck to those who can.

Re: Free pups to good home!

I deserve them cause I will put them up for sale on ebay and make money on them.

I need a set of tele pickups for this, and I plan on making it a "vintage"-like telecaster, so real single coils is what I am looking for.

It is going to be all black though (including the maple neck, which will be completely stained black to look like ebony), to match my future strat build, which will be dedicated to a loved one, "Rocky" who committed suicide and one of the memories I have with him is him talking about a strat. The strat will be named after him, and a symbol of closure and acceptance of death, while the telecaster I might name after a teacher I really respect and admire who I recently found out is expecting a baby. The telecaster is supposed to symbolize life and birth to match the strat.

Re: Free pups to good home!

I just bought a Fender MIM Delonge Strat that I intend to convert to a hardtail "traditional" strat minus the extra control knob (basic 1 vol, 1 tone). I will be stringing it with 12's for surf ala Dick Dale (yes, I know, he uses 16s but I'm not going that heavy duty).

Here's the Delonge (to be shipped to me this week).

I could use a set of strat pups for the project!

Here's my candidate--- currently has a 70's headstock Allparts neck on it and I'm hoping to rock things Blackmore/Malmsteen style:

She's a little beat up, but like Han said about the Millenium Falcon... "she's got 'er where it counts".

Showed this to a friend of mine (Rob Marcello of Danger Danger) and told him it would be inspired by Yngwie's black strat from back in Alcatrazz and it has since been dubbed "Hiroshima Mon Amour".

Re: Free pups to good home!

Chris, I like your style man, this is awesome! Great idea to help others get their projects up and running.

Re: Free pups to good home!

Ok, all the Strat pups are gone, and the one Tele set.

One Tele neck left at this point, but I plan to dig thru the pup box this week.
