fret board noise

I have a RR3 with seymour Duncan pickups. When playing they pick up too much noise from the fret board, pick, and other strings not being played. what do I need to do to correct this problem.

Re: fret board noise

I'm not quite sure what you mean by noise from the fret board. Do you mean the squeaking when you run along a string?

As for as other strings not being played, I'd say that there's nothing mechanical you can do to the guitar. I think that muting the unplayed strings with your hands would be the answer.

Proper right/left hand muting technique usually takes care of that stuff. Aside from that you could try lowering the pups in 1/32" increments and/or decreasing pre-amp drive.

Low output buckers seem to have less "haze" around the sound than high output buckers to my ears.
