Re: Friedman Amplification SS-100 Steve Stevens Signature Amp

The demo guy is forum member Sam Hill. I've run into him everywhere there's good amps.

As a So Cal guy, I'm proud that some of the best amps have come out of here, like Bogner, 65 Amps, Demeter, Bad Cat, Friedman, early Soldano etc. That's not even scraping the surface either, as Mesa, GT, Hammond/Crybaby, Fender, Matchless, Divided by 13, and and many others were California born. I'm a huge fan of great amps.

I'm now loving one of the best amps I've ever owned....a vintage Fender Pro Reverb I bought from Aspen Pitman's cousin that just may be the end of the road for 6L6 tone.

Friedman is a cool guy. Really down to earth too when I chatted with him about mods a few years back. What's even cooler (to me hehe) is he learned a lot from Bruce Egnater when he lived in Detroit MI. I will own a Friedman one day. May just have him mod my 800, but I love that thing stock.

Cool stuff, I'm pretty sure my next amp is going to be a BE100.

Re: Friedman Amplification SS-100 Steve Stevens Signature Amp

Shame they have to put Steve Stevens name on it -_-

Re: Friedman Amplification SS-100 Steve Stevens Signature Amp

the demo guy is Mark somebody. (cant think of his last name now..) His youtube posts are under the name samhillband. or something like that.. First few times I saw his vids I thought he was a kook cuz he makes funny faces, but then I realized he was just trying to be funny. (Im sure I would prolly do the same making vids cuz of nerves or whatever having the camera on me..) Anyhow, His playing is great and his vids are good and I have fallen crazy in lust for a freidman from watching his demos of them...

IDK about a God, but much respect for Steve. Highly underrated player and always brings killer tone.

Re: Friedman Amplification SS-100 Steve Stevens Signature Amp

I've tried a few Friedman amps, and the Steve Stevens is actually my favorite of all of them.
One thing about being the gear ho he is.....he knows his stuff. I've tried other Friedman amps that felt almost great, but not quite. I can't wait to plug into the Jerry Cantrell model, but the Steve Stevens amp is cool.

That said, my money would go to the Bogner Helios. I haven't heard any Friedman amp that blows that one away. I'm not talking simply gain....I'm talking huge tone that gives you goosebumps when you hear the first few notes coming out of it.
