From 6L6 to EL84

Re: From 6L6 to EL84

If AC15's are that cheap Empty Pockets said, then definitely they're better route.

Here used AC15 cost three times the price of NT...

I played through a friend's AC15C1 last night, with the Celestion Blue speaker, can't remember the exact name. It's nice! And inexpensive if you get the right deal.

Re: From 6L6 to EL84

Hi all,
I changed a bit my project. I’ve built a “magic box” with both a couple of 6L6 and a couple of EL84. I can switch them, when in standby mode

The xover distorsione is gone and the sound is brighter than with the 6L6. Of course I have a 15/17W as power output, but at home is more than sufficient.
I recently bought a 2nd hand Vox Night Train.
The sound is very similar, adapting the tone controls.
