$1680 really isn't that bad for a custom built guitar. Ppl spend twice that much on gibons that turn out to be crap

First run is soldout. Not sure if they decided to stay at 12 guitars or increase it to 25 as was mentioned in a thread at the Hamer Fan Club board site. I think I got in but have not recieved a confirmation as of this posting.
The usa is a play on Hamer with it's usa on the end of the logo. This guy starting the new company was with Hamer for YEARS!! All the guitars pictured I am sure he built. I have at least 4 guitars I know were built by him for the most part. I ordered a Vintage Natural Standard as described on here...

It implies nothing of the sort.
Other companies based in the USA do that all the time. Hell, Hamer started doing that on their first guitars in the mid-70s, decades before they even thought about doing import lines.

Ginormous is not a follower of all things Hamers Notsteve but he does pose what many may ask. "Will there be an import line?" World Guitar in Korea makes a good one for sure. Market is there for a great import. Electra's rebirth is evidence of that. Those are really nice guitars BTW.

I always find it comical that the guitar industry almost universally uses last names as the name of the company - even when the last name doesnt' really seem like a good name for the brand (like, Shishkov guitars).
And yes, I realize that many companies use the last name of the founder as the name of the business... but very few guitar companies seem to think "outside the box" and come up with a unique name... maybe Reverend?

I like the idea of Ibanez, choosing a random Spanish last name to give credibility to a Japanese brand.
Reminds me of Megelli... a motorcycle brand for sale here in Chile. Ever heard of it? I bet you haven't, because it's Chinese and they're crap.
But they chose a name that sounds Italian, and that's better than Loncin, Jinlon, HaoJue and Sumo bikes (true story all of those...)
