FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

:D

Sorry Jeff, I was waiting for one of these to pop-up (either honey burst or wine red). Thought I'd have to wait until after chrismas to get a good deal due to people having to pay bills following the holidays but hey, no way I would've passed on this one if the terms were right (and they were)... :)

As this will be my first Gibby I hope you'll have the heart to forgive me ;)

I will bro...just jealous that I don't have the funds to buy it myself. The listed price was a real bargin IMO for a guitar that looks as good as this one. I know you will enjoy it. Please give a report once you get it and play it.

BTW, does it have 50's neck or 60's?

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

You are much too kind ;)

The price was indeed a steal IMO. Although once it will have crossed the border it'll be a nice chunk higher (customs and exchange rate) but hey, the used ones go for over 2 grands here in Qc and evil bay would've got me a lot higher than that too, then add shipping and everything... It really is a bargain for me.

Neck: I believe all classics have the 60's neck... should be fine since I really enjoy the neck on my Ltd ec-1000, which is supposed to be much more in the 60's ballpark than the 50s.

A review will indeed be in order once I receive it. :)

Congrats Surgeon...really nice guitar...tell us about it after you have played it for a while.

Jeff H...hopefully you will find one that you like soon.

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

Thanks Greco, I'll be sure to come and brag a little. ;)

I should also state that Brewtone was a real pleasure to do business with so far. Very good communication and was willing to help me with some details regarding shipping and such (nothing illegal guys don't worry ;)). I'll make sure to add some feedback for him in the Trader alert once the transaction' done...

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

Did I mention that this thing will most likely be the host for a Brobucker/SethLover combo? :D

Ok, I gotta stop posting here...sorry, I guess I'm a little excited. Imagine what it'll be when it arrives at my door...;)

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

Definitely a seamless transaction, thanks Surgeon.

You enjoy your new LP Classic and I'll enjoy the Splawn Quick rod I just ordered!!!

BTW, all classics comde with the 60's neck; much faster than the neck on my STD or LP Custom

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

Thanks to you Brew,

I'll be sure to enjoy it and have fun with that Splawn.

Exactly what I thought about the necks...should be fun.

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

It might help if Brewtone would consider writing "used" on the green descrption sheet when he ships. The Canadian folks MIGHT not charge you taxes that way. Otherwise, they have no way of knowing if you are buying a new guitar or not. Maybe this what you guys have already discussed.

Enjoy the new Splawn, Brewtone

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

Yep, this was already discussed but thanks for the tip. I don't know if this will prevent custom fees (I doubt it) but if it can reduce even slightly these fees I'll be happy. However, I prefer to plan like I'll be charged the full amount. If something good happens, I'll just be more happy. :)

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

What do the customs fees usually go for shipping a guitar in to Canada?

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

Usually we end up paying the sales taxes (both national and provincial) on the value (mostly declared value) of the guitar... therefore, in a case like this one, I should end up paying approximately 150$ in custom fees.

Have you thought about zebras or double cremes? I think the guitar would look great with either one. I put zebras on my classic and couldn't be happier with the way it looks and sounds - see avatar. By the way the pickups were PG neck and SH-5 Custom bridge.

A little Photoshop work to give you an idea. :)

Re: FS:2002 Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst

Yep, my brobucker and SL are both double cream...

I already have a zebra Custom/PGn combo (kick-ass combo) in my LTD ec-1000 amber sunburst and it really looks killer... I just want to go for something else than zebra for this one.

Thanks for the pS work... :)
