FS: 90's Fender Duo Sonic

I just got this guitar last weekend, and it is a great playing guitar but i just can't handle the change between the scale length on this duo sonic (22.5) and my other guitars, 24.75 and 25.5. It has a great thin finish that is starting to relic naturally. It does have play wear and feels all nice and broken in. there is a thread in the guitar section all about it along with the same pics that are posted below.

I will not change any more that what i paid for it. That said I am asking 110 plus the actual shipping costs. I will figure those out with whichever carrier you would like.

thanks

22.5"? Wow, that's tiny.

Is that bridge string-through? Any idea what kind of routing under there?

yeah the bridge is a top loader though i was told it was not hard at all to make these string though. The routing is like a swimming pool but there is a block of wood in between the pickups, I do not know how it is attached. I haven even had the pickguard all the way off, i just took the screws out and looked under with the strings on.

Re: FS: 90's Fender Duo Sonic

I've played a bunch of these. it doesn't feel so tiny once you try it out yourself... at least not to me. but yeah, it's pretty small compared to 25.5

Dude... actually, just keep it around for a week, and get used to it :laugh2: once you're used to it, it'll be totally worth it to get those sounds...

Re: FS: 90's Fender Duo Sonic

I'd love to have that thing...I have also been looking at various 3/4 guitars lately, Im just not sure I could deal with the shorty scale.

Re: FS: 90's Fender Duo Sonic

a 22.5" scale Mustang or Duo Sonic II are more comfortable for most people to play sitting down at least, because the offset body makes the neck further away

(Useful hint: MIM Duo Sonics like the one mister jones is selling are actually 22.7". not that it matters :laugh2:

The best playing mustang I ever played was 22.5

Really?! I couldn't even deal with the 24" Stang I had...long time ago, and it was my only axe at the time but still.

I think I could go 24" today on one guitar but Im not sure I could handle it much, if any shorter...

Re: FS: 90's Fender Duo Sonic

if your hands are that big maybe not then :D

I'm hard pressed to tell the diff between 24" and 24.75" without being told... But I've got pretty big hands, and just enjoy the extra reach.

(It's easy to distinguish which axes are 24" from 24.75" based on the rest of the guitar, heh)

Re: FS: 90's Fender Duo Sonic

I actually think another part of the issue I have with those guitars is the very thin and narrow neck as well as the short scale...between the short scale, narrow nut width and the shallow profile it just feels like a toy to me...

Re: FS: 90's Fender Duo Sonic

make sure you find one with a "B" width neck. that's 1 11/16 EDIT 1 5/8 nut IIRC?

an "A" width neck (common) is 1.5" nut. Those are more cramped. I believe the MIM Duo is 1.5"

The afforementioned Mustang I was talking about had a burlier neck than most strats. (in terms of wideness and deepness) it was just shorter.

...I've even played Mustangs with HUGE C and D width necks, which are wider than anything you've seen before lol.

My stang has a 24" B neck, which is pretty conventional.

it is actually a pretty thick neck for a guitar that size. It is nice that way but my fingers keep skipping frets and i actually get lost on the fret board. thats why i started playing slide on it. I need to sell it now because i found a tweed champ.

that is fine with me, you guys had me taking measurements. I think and i can't tell very well it is either 1 and 5/8 or 11/16th. it actually looks like it is between the two but i think thats me not keeping my rule straight.

thanks for all the info guys, now if someone is good with the serial numbers on fenders i would be in business
