Hi everyone;
Asking $875 shipped and PP'd.I paid more than this so I can't really go any lower and feel it's a steal at that price.
It's a 1998 Gibson Les Paul Standard Double Cut I only recently acquired.Being a true blue Les Paul kinda guy I had wanted to try one of these double cuts for some while; 24 frets,AAA flamed top,easy upper fret access,light weight and all that.But I no sooner got it then as it usually happens something I liked even more caught my eye,sooo here it is!
The gold bridge and tailpiece were recently replaced by a previous owner-a girl- with new ones just because the gold was fading- as they do.It also received a fresh setup at the same time-have the receipts from the shop that did the work.
Some buckle rash on the back-none of which goes thru the finish-all as might be expected for a guitar of it's age.
Yes,it's chambered which makes it light.I don't have a home scale as I'm disabled and can't get on one anyways(lol),but I can get an exact weight on it if desired.
The guitar plays like butter and sounds great.It has the Gibson 490R and 498T pickups in it which it came stock with.
The case has seen some road life so it has some nicks and scrapes but it still is solid with no real damage-all the latches still work fine except for the combo lock which only latches.
As indicated the only reason I'm selling is I'm trying to buy something else,but if I have to keep it I won't be heart broken either!
I had plans for it that included adding a Stetsbar Pro as it doesn't require any permanent mod's or whatever to the guitar.Also planned to add a new wiring harness with push/pull pot's for coil splitting,in phase/out of phase,etc.The Stetsbar with the coil splitting and the 24 frets would make the guitar a very versatile instrument I feel-but it's also fine as it is and all chambering arguments set aside-with the lighter weight and tummy cut it won't break your back during long sessions either-something to be said for that.
Anyways,pm me or call me(608-330-0571) if interested.I can provide references and any other pic's you would like.
Thanks and have a great weekend-Fall is almost here and then we all know what's coming after that unfortunately!
