I have not actually dropped this in my tele, but when I had the strat L250 bridge pup in my strat, it was really comparable to the SSL-1's that were already in there, just noiseless. So definitely more vintage toned than one might consider a rail pickup to be. The rail gets nice even response between the strings, and especially with bending, there is no drop in output.
