For sale is one drop dead gorgeous Epiphone '61 SG/LP Custom R.I. in unplayed condition. The guitar has been discontinued for quite some time and the workmanship is excellent. It plays and feels like a Gibson...

One mod was made to the guitar, the original butterbean 14:1 Grovers were replaced with Gibson/Grover 18:1 tulip head tuners, other than that, 100% stock.

There are no chips, dings, scrapes scratches.... nothing... like new and includes all case candy. The gold is in excellent condition, it has no playwear at all.

I am the original owner and I never used this guitar for what I bought it for and it has just sat in a climate controlled room.

The case is a MF hard case... very nice. Korean made at the same plant that the Elite models are made... it shows.

525.00 plus shipping NTE $40 to lower 48.

I have references which are rock solid. PM me for more pics etc.

Thanks...

Lovely ! I've always loved the Gibson model of these guitars ! How low is the action ? I almost bought one of the Gibson SG Customs, but they didn't seem to sound any different than the SG Standard I have, beautiful though. This appears to have an Ebony board.. correct ?

Good luck

i remember when these were around. the construction on the gibson-authorized epiphone reissues is fantastic. i have the cherry red one with two humbuckers and a stop tail

Useless by free bump.

How thick/thin is the neck, anyway?

Re: FS: Epi '61 SG/LP R.I. w/Maestro tremolo HSC

The fretboard is ebony, the neck is slim and like lightning. The action is low but not too low... just right if you ask me. I had it professionally set up and then just never used it.

I know, that sounds crazy but it's the truth. The guitar shows it, it's in better condition than any guitar you will find new hanging on a guitar shop wall. It never hung on a wall, I have been the only person to touch it besides the luthier.

This guitar could be put on a shop wall as NOS and no one would ever know it's not except by the tuners (professionally installed)

Trade ???

I would like a Epi Les Paul in cherry burst, must be at least a standard, I will look at any Epi Les Paul except black! (I have a black Gibson Studio I would like to see "go away" too!)
