Up for sale is a 1968-69 modified Fender Princeton Reverb.

I've owned it for roughly a year now and have had no problems with it, whatsoever. The previous put a lot of money into it to make sure it would continue running for another 40+ years. The capacitors all were replaced with new ones and it has a relatively new set of tubes in it.

The amp was brought to Aztech Electronics up in Watertown for the overhaul and some modifications I'm about to explain.

The amp has been modified to install a standby switch, so you're not cooking tubes all day and can let it warm up properly. In addition, the standby switch "apparently" has two separate tone changing settings on it, but I haven't noticed a difference between the two. Your mileage may vary.

In addition, it's been modified for a Weber 10F150T speaker, which is incredibly loud and does the blues thing impeccably.

Here's some of the weird bits:

The inside of the chassis is stamped a different date than the cabinet itself, which is why I say it's a '68 or a '69. Unfortunately, there's no way to be sure.

At some point in history, the cabinet was taken apart and put together with half of another one, apparently for more stability. Certainly appears to have worked, but whoever reapplied the tolex didn't do a very good job and there are some seams that can be seen on the sides, but isn't noticeably unless you're up close. The baffle, however is a floating one and makes it relatively easy to replace a speaker.

In addition, the original grill was mangled up with some grill from a blackface era Fender and looked absolutely horrible, literal patchwork.

It was replaced with reproduction silverface grill cloth, but wasn't put on very well, either. It hangs a little loose, but covers the grill up fine. Also seems the Fender badge was glued on to the grill, which I imagine could just get torn off.

I've priced this amp at an amount that reflects all these modifications, which would explain why it's somewhat low.

It really is a great sounding amp that just looks a little bit ugly. It's going to last for a much longer time, now that it's got all these modifications into it.
