FT: 2008 PRS Mira - Powder Blue

Seymour Duncan Customer Support
It's with no small degree of resignation that I offer my dead mint 2008 Paul Reed Smith Mira up for trade. I'm just not bonding with it. It's too nice. It plays too well. This guitar should be in the hands of someone with a nice, light touch - not a cro-magnon fistpicker like me.

Specs:
- Made in the USA
- Powder Blue finish
- "Regular" neck carve (super comfy!!)
- Mahogany body and neck
- Indian Rosewood fretboard
- 24 jumbo frets
- 25" scale length
- PRS Mira Treble and Bass pickups
- Volume, Tone, 3-way blade switch and coil tap mini toggle
- Weighs around 6.5 lbs

Condition:
mint! perfect! dead stock - no mods. Will ship with OHSC and all trimmin's and fixin's.

Description:
Light, extremely resonant, perfectly balanced on a strap - this thing is ergonomic genius. It balances like a Katana sword. The action insanely low. It's a legato player's dream. LOUD acoustically. This is the one guitar I own that when I sit down on the couch with it in the evening to plunk around, my girl says "Could you please play a different guitar? I'd like to be able to hear the TV."

I bought it because I thought it would be like a slick, refined SG with better balance, more versatility, and better playability. It turned out to be all those things and more, but unfortunately for me "slick and refined" just isn't congruous with my playing style, and while I'm sure the Mira could easily withstand the abuse, I should really be playing instruments that reward me for it instead of just withstanding it.

What I'd be interested in:

Make me an interesting offer! I won't be sending this to Ebay, but I will be posting the same thing on TGP.

I'm primarily interesting in guitars or amps of similar value, but the right trade plus a little cash would be considered also.

Want some ideas?
How 'bout a nice USA Fender Jazzmaster?
A cool SG with P-90s?
A Firebird?
An ESP Eclipse or Viper plus a few bucks?
An EBMM Albert Lee or Silhouette?
A nice USA G&L?
An Ampeg Dan Armstrong in good condition with both pickups?
Who knows, man. If you want this guitar, are in good standing around here, and think you have something worth trading, drop me a reply or PM.

didja try increasing the action and upping the string gauge? ... i am a cro magnon too, and i have found that my axes need to fight back in order for me to bond with them

Wow, man! This is a surprise. I can't trade away any of my stuff, but I hope you get a Firebird (because I want one, too) or a P-90 SG (because I love mine) for it.

Eh, I just don't like the feel of high action. I like guitars that can give me a little fight despite their low action, or ones that seem to respond to my pummeling in a favorable way. I'd rather move on and let someone else get the benefit of a really nice-playing guitar than muck it up to suit my weird style.

Yeah, I'm surprised too, and if I get no interest I'm just going to keep it. You've hit on another reason I'm looking to trade - I've got enough guitars with standard humbuckers in them already.

And they were RIGHT. Craggy on the eyes, but supple in the hands.. She was a worldly woman, experienced, tender...

Re: FT: 2008 PRS Mira - Powder Blue

Please trade for Adam's PRS. He is an excellent and trustworthy guy. Plus, if nobody trades with him soon, I'm going to have to post more Thatcher pics. I think we all can agree that nobody wants that to happen.

Your guitar makes me angry. In my head, I've told myself that pastel colors are for girls, but yet I love that guitar!

Dammit, I told you to buy the trans red one! If you had, I'd be twitching a lot harder!
hahaha

It's the guitar analog of a 50s American Hot Rod that handles like a BMW M series. ;)

That Tele of yours spoiled this one for ya...:omg:

Oh yeah, bump

I will admit that the Tele is getting played a lot.
