Full Shred set vs Alpha/Omega

What are your thoughts on this?

I'm wanting to try some new pickups, and these caught my attention. I don't think I've tried many mid-output pickups. I had my phase where I was into PAF-types (I play metal), but I'm kind of over that. I like high output pickups now, and so far, my favorites have been the Fluence Classic (set to Voice 2), the JB, the Duncan Distortion, and the Black Winter.

But I'm kinda curious about these mid output pickups. I tend to like bright pickups with a strong upper-mid emphasis. I wouldn't mind a bit more clarity and less low-mid stuffiness, tho. Which of these sets fits that bill better? Which is hotter of the two? What are your thoughts on these both individually and compared?

Thanks!

Interesting question. Don't have any experience with those sets. I have always wanted to try a Full Shred bridge in my Floyded Jackson and from the description of the neck, I would probably love the whole set. Haven't heard much about the Alpha/Omega since it came out a few years ago. I would imagine that it's just as good at what it does.
But as far as clarity and low-mid stuffiness, I've been running my Alternative 8 bridge pickup in parallel for a while and that's exactly how I would describe it.

Have you used a Custom? The FS is Custom coils with an A5 and hex poles. Neck is a Jazz with hex poles.
All the more reason to like it. Wonder what happens when you put in a regular ceramic, like a Custom?
Metal Heaven?

I've never played the Alpha/Omega, but I have a Full Shred bridge in a Godin and it is bright and very tight. It pushes my amps pretty hard, splits very well, and has absolutely zero flub. I like it, but it can be bright when compared to more conventional pickups.

BTW, I have 6 hex poles and 6 fillisters in my FSb. It still feels brighter and tighter than a Screamin Demon (to me, anyway).

I have, and I didn't like it. Way too much bloated low-end, IMO. I do't like the Jazz either, but that is matched with high output bridge pickups. Maybe it's better with mid output bridge pickups. Is the FS like that too?

If you don't like the Jazz, you won't like the FS. It is more in the Jazz direction.

The Full Shred bridge is a cool pickup. There's not another Duncan I've ever tried that's remotely like it. Played it in a Charvel shred stick and it wasnt what I'd label as "bright"...it's a rich, moderately hot pup.

It had more low end than I expected and wasnt bright like I expected to be. That could change fast depending on the guitar it's in.
