Full shred with this set-up?

I have jackson SLSMG (all mahogny, pretty thin body, ebony fretboard, String through body, 24 frets)

I always thought the full shred sounds intresting and I like the clips from the site. How would it work in this guitar do you think. Maybe with dropped D tuning? THink of both bridge and neck.
Also, if such a thing is possible, Im looking for a pup that will get my 24 to sound more like a 22 fretter..

Thanks

Mine likes the full shred in the neck.. sounds excellent. I dont know what you mean by that last sentence. On a side note, if you havent upgraded the electronics, do so, with a .22 cap. You will see a HUGE tonal improvement. One of the most underrated things you can do to a guitar.

I'll try it out man thanks. What I meant by that last thing is that when you have 24 frets the neck pick-up sounds a bit less like a neckpickup and more like a bridge, know what I'm saying? Maybe it's just my imagination.

Not your imagination at all. I have a PGb in the neck of my Carvin DC 127-T. It really beefed up the sound and it did indeed make my 24 fretter sound more like a 22 fret axe. :alcoholic

Dont worry.. i dont think you will have a problem unless you are spoiled with that sort of tone.

Hmm...I dunno...It might be a tad bit bright. Couldn't tell ya for sure though. I've only ever heard em in thicker-bodied guitars like my super tele, and my schecter. They work great in those though.

But since this is all mahogny it's quite dark no? But your right it's pretty thin...

Well...yes and no...I found that my mahogony-bodied brian moore is pretty bright...I've got a custom 8 in my LP that sounds great, but the same pickup in the brian moore is just not as full/fat sounding. It all depends though...It probably won't be "ice-pick" bright like a JB can be at times...but there might be a bit of fuzzy edge to it...depends on if ya think thats a good thing or a bad thing ;)
