Fuzzy pedals.

Re: Fuzzy pedals.

I'm not set yet, I'm going to try compression after fuzz and overdrive too.

Fuzz compresses a good bit on it's own and IME sending a compressed signal into a fuzz more often than not yields a tone that I personally find pretty useless...comp into OD, that's a different story!

That said I don't see any issues as far as working correctly with your proposed signal chain...

Re: Fuzzy pedals.

I wasn't at all trying to talk you into or out of anything...

I just like Faces better than most other fuzzes but even at that if you say yer going with a Sunface you still have a lot of options...

Re: Fuzzy pedals.

The three I am looking at are 1. Analogman Sunface 2. DAM Tonebender MKII clone 3. Baldwin Burns Buzzaround clone. Thats pretty much the order. Plus if I don't like whatever I buy, I can always sell it and grab another. Honestly the best thing I could possibly do would be to try all three, but that simply isn't realistic.

No real bad choices there...not sure I'd spend the extra money a DAM unit will bring but there is nothing wrong with the units.

This is true, I had big trouble getting my sound to cut through with compressor into big muff

Re: Fuzzy pedals.

IME the only "problem" with a true Fuzz Face circuit is that it needs to be first in your signal chain. Being able to vary the output impedance of the device right before it is how to get the most out of a fuzz box, and your guitar's volume control does just that. A buffer of any kind is the last thing you want in front of a fuzz box.
