G&L MFD pickups

Anyone have the skinny on these? I just got an ASAT with the big p-90 looking ones and would like some thoughts.

I've got the MFDs on my ASAT. They're hot and articulate. I love 'em!

Got me a new ASAT Special yesterday and it's got them...sounds fine through the Bassman!

BTW, is there something wrong with the guitar forum? I've tried to post there ten times, and it only goes to a blank screen. I can post here...(God, I sound like Jimmy) :lmao:

You know, I had problems for an entire day posting to one of the forums -- no idea why.

They did an update recently, and there might still be a few bugs. I'm chompin' at the bit to show my new guitar off.

Do the MFD pickups have kind of a P-90 tone to them?

They're for sure beefier than the singles in a Fender. Good thick lead tones. I've only had it for a day, but I already love the tone.

Do the MFD pickups have kind of a P-90 tone to them?

They do have more teeth than a traditional (or even modern) Tele, but I would say they're not as rude as P-90s. It's more like controlled muscle.
