G12M/G12H review and some new stuff!

Hey e-dudes, e-pals, e-buddies....

Just got last week a G12M greenback to replace the V30 in my 2x12 combo, the other 12 incher being a G12H30.

First, I didnt really like the V30, kinda harsh sounding and "spiky". I needed a softer, "bluesier" feel from the speaker, read "warmer".

The G12M is a perfect match with the G12H. Compliment very well, adding some "organic" 3d presence. And being a tad less "present" than the V30, I can crank the vol. a tad higher on the amp. Really nice match.

Also received 3-weeks ago a VoodooLab Micro-Vibe, which is a damn great unit for the money. For anyone looking for such Hendrix swirling tones, this is it! But dont use it thru the FX loop....

And... just received my EHx Small Clone this morning!
The CE-2 not being for me, the EHx might be THE alternative. I have a gig tonite and will post some feedback next week!

BTW, currently have for sale :
- Marshall ED-1 Compressor, great unit! 45$ shipped
- Guaytone MD-2 Delay (soon for sale, still thinking about it) 50$ shipped

  :fing25:

Sorry for the "fingers"... this dude is about to replace my greatest hero, "bananaMan" :D

Re: G12M/G12H review and some new stuff!

The G12M-25 Greenback is a fine speaker, especially in a closed back cab that gives that speaker a little more much needed bass. Only ceramic magnet Celestions I like better would be the G12H-30...and the Vintage 30! :burnout: Lew

Re: G12M/G12H review and some new stuff!

BTW, the cab is a Trutone Custom cab, 2x12, semi-open back. The G12H compensates for all the bass lost due to G12M/openback config.
