I used to own this guitar. A Dean white gold V
I was looking through some older pictures and decided I have to find one again.

If anyone runs across one please let me know.

Just curious...we've talked on the forum about neck dive on an SG, with that huge headstock, how's the neck dive on that Dean?

it like the moon
it is one quarter the size of the body

it should orbit

This is funny.
If you want a bigger laugh punch in " how many people believe the sun orbits the Earth " in your google machine.
That's funny too.

That's strange. I would think the neck dive would be so strong that it would rotate down and pull the guitar completely off...the body weighs 8lbs. and the head weighs 4lbs.

In general they´re surprisingly well balanced. That´s one of the advantages of the V shape, lots of flexibility in where to mount the "lower" /butt end strap button.... if you mount it on the end of the wing like on my ´84 Gibson, nosediving is guaranteed. But if it´s mounted underneath the bass side wing about halfway along the length (as Dean does) you´re generally going to be golden ;)

that was the purpose of the long upper horn of a strat

the move the strap pin up along the neck to make the Tele less likely to dive
and to reposition the nut closer to the body

or at least that is my understanding

That's a sharp looking V. The ML I had was very well balanced. No neck dive. I was more concerned with impaling my bandmates with it.....LOL

I actually really like the Dean Headstock. It's different. Kinda like if BC Rich was around in the 70's.

I'm not into V's. I mean, they look cool, but I can't play them cofortably. But I'd love an ML or a Caddy.

But that is one classy looking V.

Impaling people with an ML?

That´s like stabbing people with a spoon... generally completely safe, but if it does actually draw blood the preceding trauma and pain must have been horriffically excruciating:chairfall
