i figured you guys could relate.

i have a strat that i love. and a tele.

so of course i am looking at another strat. i'm thinking maple board, since my current has rosewood. also looking at SSL-1 and SSL-5 options.

don't need it at all, just kinda jonesing.

the new Deluxe Roadhouse model looks cool, and comes with Texas Specials. that might be fun until i can't hold off on a pickup swap anymore.

How can one possibly jones without needing? It simply doesn't make sense :22:

What's in your current Strat?

For the record, I'm in the midst of blowing up my Strat situation so I can have a '62 style AND a '69 style Strat! ;)

Oh how I can relate! All things considered, pickups are the life force energy of the guitar. They are the living breathing soul of the instrument, and I sometimes start an entire assembly around the pickups!
Some pickups can transform some decent budget guitars into amazing sounding guitfiddles.
I currently have a set of Antiquities Stratocaster pickups, like premium ssl-1's, just waiting for a quality instrument to install them.

right on.

current is a black 2005 american series with dimarzio area 67 / area 58/ 36th anniversary PAF pickups and a rosewood board. it does a lot well.

I just bought a strat last year with some dimarzio's in it. I'm gassing for another one with some lace sensors, I want to build this one to be completely custom. I'm looking for some bodies and necks now. Oh the choices!!
