Gassing for an alpine white beauty

Re: Gassing for an alpine white beauty

That's very interesting considering The actual pickups are made offshore

Just played a guit with a two slug-row generic Asian bridge HB, like the RockF FatA** and was surprised how warm it sounded. The coils had a nice reddish/orange color too:D

I dont care where they were made, LOL. The Rockfield pups sound good. Well balanced. Full, all frequencies well represented like a good old PAF/PAT #/ T-Top or Shaw (EDIT_ NOT saying they sound like these pickups exactly, just saying they offer similar well balanced characteristics unlike say a scoopy/bright '59) The problem I've had with them in Michale Kelly guitars is the (typical) crap wood. In a good piece of wood, they sounds really nice...the SWVs are just titch muddy on the low e, but I was able to work around it with some tweaking.

I tried the Mafias as well in a Exotic Classic M'bird and they were wicked cool, lol.

Are they custom booteek quality? heck no. But they are good sounding pups in a decent guitar, and a really good value.

Tokai do an LP custom in white with black binding, looks the biz.

I think I found the one...

White with black (well multiply) binding and a prewired push pull which I was going to put in anyways, and Duncan Designed hb102 set. I love it.

One question though, does anyone know if the tempests have flat instead of round frets? The omen I played had flattened frets that didn't agree with me, and if they have them, i might be a deal breaker.

I've always liked that Schecter... cool looks. It has a way of being somewhat similar to an LP Custom, but different enough to have it's own thing going that isn't gaudy like a lot of other body styles that kinda took from the LP vibe. Great choice, and great price point Imho.
