Well, i got a pedal I have always wanted. An Electro-Harmonix POG. But after getting it and playing with it, it seems like it will be more of an accent piece, or a fun noisemaker. I have also been wanting to get an acoustic guitar though. I currently have a crappy Kay guitar. I have been eying a flat black Art and Lutherie acoustic/electric guitar with a cedar top. I love how it sounds, and I would play it quite often. I'll have to save some pennies and sell the POG to get it, though. So I need some input here.

Re: Gear decision...

You're not using the POG much right now, and chances are you'll use it even less over time. Face it, the novelty probably has worn off. Sell it and get the acoustic. You'll be happier in the long run.

Re: Gear decision...

I voted acoustic.

I can almost guarantee you'll use the acoustic more than the POG.

Re: Gear decision...

I mean I own a POG and love it... But I'd be the first to admit it's a niche effect. If you will be playing the acoustic often, go for it. On the other hand if it was an effect integral to your tone and sound (OD or fuzz, etc) it would be a tougher choice.

Re: Gear decision...

my brother bought a POG, he sold it about a week later (i think?) its just not that cool

Re: Gear decision...

sell the POG, its about as useful as _____________________(insert your favorite useless item here)

kind of like multiprocessors for me,I will play with them for hours ,but never really "effectively" use them for anything

Yeah, I've come to the same conclusion with multi-effects. I just never use them for anything but screwing around at home. I like the organ sounds it can make, but hardly ever use them. I just heard the POG on a track, and I knew it was the POG. It definitely has a signature.

The other thing that has been catching my eye is a reverb pedal, like the Holy Grail...

Re: Gear decision...

Go for the guitar. I had a P O G and while it was cool, it just nevr got enough use to warrant keeping it, so I traded it on some speakers and other junk I would use more............
