So whats the Dealeo with the Guitar Institutes? , or Institute?
I don't know but I keep hearing things about all these great musicians coming our of them like gilbert,Dave Weiner (the guy that plays in the Steve Vai Band) etc. (I know i'm not automatically going to become one either just because I go to one :laugh2: )
Theres a version of that or what seems to be in The UK called the Guitar institute Also.
Just wondering anyone here ever been to One and what was it like.
I'd really love to get into some sort of school or institute like that to expand my playing and grow as a musician etc.. as ive really developed quiet a passion for it over the past few months

Thoughts,experience is greatly appreciated

If you'd like heres the site for the UK one

I know two people who went to/are going to such places, one mate who went to one called AGM(i think) a year ago one who is going to (just accepted) BIMM(Brighton Acadamy of Modern Music), and from what i gather its not that hard, a few pentatonic scales, a handful of chords (just basic major, minor and a few others) and 'very little' theory was all my mate needed for BIMM, and if you visit thier website you can get more info and videos of the tutors. Its not going to be a walk in the park, but i seriously dont see getting in to be a problem if you want it, there really wasnt that much to learn.

Looks cool tho, his interview was done by the lead guitarist of Toploader(who had a go on his JEM), and apparently the amp they plugged him into while there was once used as a tour amp for Satch.

BTW to add i think it cost about £900 for a year if you are (this is obviously just the UK ones) if you are under 19 or 20, and that price triples or something if you are over that age, so get in quick!

Yeah i was looking at the requirements and whatnot, Firstly I think ill have to do the Diploma course which is a year long and needed to get inot the Degree (3 year) course. Diploma course costs about £4,500 (eek)(but worth it I would hope)
Then the Degree requires a certain level in the GCSE (which I'm not doing as I live in Ireland so Im not sure what the equivelent is) then Grade 6 standard for Sight reading and theory. That ones a doosey.
Luckily my parents have agreed to once i get a part time job take a year out after school to simply practice to my hearts content.
Where I would also study the Grades and hopefully mabye get a few of them done.
Might sound far fetched but If I put my mind to It and believe in myself.

Then I might get it :laugh2:

Cheers Guys
