General Tips on Pickup Height *REQUEST*

Hey tone-mages...

Got a question. I've got a SD Cool Rails in the neck of my Pac and I'm hard pressed to get a tone that I'm happy with (or its 'best potential tone')... have you guys got any general tips on how to set pickup height... or at least how to practically test it?

set the pickup all the way up, then lower it with half turns of both screws (or quarter turns) each time testing it out until you find where you like it most. as for how to test, i would say choose a few songs you like to play, distortion and clean if you play both, and use the same songs each time you test it. it will take awhile, but its worth it.

What I do is just tweak it and play it until I find a sweet spot A general rule of thum is that the closer the pickup is to the strings, the fatter it will be, and the further away it is, there will be more highs and the mids wil be a bit more oopen. :burnout:
