my first one was 9.4K, and 6.6K tapped (A2); the neck is 7.6 (A5) .. with the right amp, they compress very nicely ... raw tone with a sweet top end and just the right bite

Man, I love it. If it were mine, I'd go with only 1 pickup, the one you have in mind, and a black or tortoise Esquire pickguard, then a rosewood fretboard.

I've said before that I'm not really a fan of precious, fancy guitars, and I always want to have players.
That said, this body arrived at work yesterday morning, and I left it out so I could look at it, 'cause it was that nice.

I got the body from my friend Tommy @ USACG. It was a web special, and IIRC, weighed about 4 lbs, 3 oz.
I've just been very happy with their parts, and as you know, their necks and fret work are excellent!
