George L's

I ended up getting a roll of Goerge L cable and ends today on a trade. I've always just used cheap cords and patch cables, but figured since I didn't have much in the George L stuff I would just use it, if for nothing else but to make my rig look "cleaner".

I have a question before I start cutting cable. I have right angle ends and they have a screw cap on the end. Do I need to trim the wire where it goes into the plug, or just stick the wire in and screw it down?

Re: George L's

cut the whole thing straight across, like with one good snip from some sharp scissors.

Then, uh...

well...

you just SHOVE IT in the HOLE

Push it in, HARD

AND SCREW TILL YOU CAN'T NO MORE

And that's the story of how you came to be.

Re: George L's

with george L's its best to use a straight razor to cut the wire in a sawing motion. that way you dont squash the cable at the end or anything. thats why i wouldnt use snips or anything like that

Re: George L's

Hmm, so it's purely a pressure connect on these? I was considering trying them, but I have always preferred soldered connections over pressure connections...
