Does anyone have a clue what Duncan George actually has in the Tiger guitar? I've heard him say in interviews that it's a Demon, but the picture below is not a Demon. Any help would be great!

Demon has one row of flatheads and one row of allen heads. I don't think he installed slugs.

My thoughts exactly. I'm wondering if that might be the original Distortion...?

Re: George Lynch's Tiger guitar pickup?

Hell he is probably a dumbass to begin with. In a video he did with Dave Navarro he said that he didn't even know whether his guitar had 22 or 24 frets, and he actually had to count the frets, while it was obvious from the dot markers whether it was a 22 or 24 fret.

So, maybe the same situation applies to his pickup on this tiger.

Re: George Lynch's Tiger guitar pickup?

i'd guess it's either a distortion or the custom shop dokkenbucker

Re: George Lynch's Tiger guitar pickup?

Most likely a distortion. He is known to have used them back in the day prior to the screamin' demon being released.

Re: George Lynch's Tiger guitar pickup?

Who cares ?
Back in the day the guy was a God.
His playing in the Stars video is unbelievable.

Unfortunately all I see from his now is totall shreddy bollocks with no real skill, terrible tone and no regard for the song.
He also seems to have turned into an unlikable human being.

Real shame as I, like most, worshipped him in my youth.

Re: George Lynch's Tiger guitar pickup?

No need to be shameful. The man used to be a monster. Sadly, he seems to have lost 'it' after he started bodybuilding.

Is he the guitarist that played on the We're Stars song with Dio on vocals? I've never seen the video, just heard it on the radio.

so you made believe he was a God, and then you disappointed yourself when you realized that he's just a mere man?

Re: George Lynch's Tiger guitar pickup?

George did a clinic for a store I worked for in 2009. I asked him specifically what the pickup is. He said it's a '59. I tend to believe him because even after hearing him live on several occasions, his tone was drastically different than what it was with the Demon or Distortion.

definitely not a 59 in the picture. a 59 wouldn't say seymour duncan on it.

Re: George Lynch's Tiger guitar pickup?

He's really a nice guy (when his wife isn't around, lol). We hung out with him and talked shop. Cool dude.

Re: George Lynch's Tiger guitar pickup?

Maybe the pic was taken after or before 2009, but that's what he told us. His words were (at first) "I don't know, haha." Then he said the bottom had "SH-1b" on it. He said "I just told them to put something vintage in it." But George changes out pickups quite frequently, so it's probably something else in the pic. Currently I think he is using his own pickups (I forget the name).

Re: George Lynch's Tiger guitar pickup?

A four conductor 59 would have a label... Right? From the clips I've heard, I 59 wouldn't surprise me.

good point. i'm sure he used a 59 at some point. as for whats in the pic, it could be almost anything.

Yngwie and Lynch are incredible.
