First of all hello everyone im Marty and I thought this might be the place to get some answers.
I got hot rails for the bridge and neck on my strat, I tried to wire them with spin a split on the 2 tone pots but didn't like the results.
A few days later I rewired it following the autospit diagram on this website, I switched the hot and ground on the middle pickup and screwed it flush to the scratchplate.
So this is where the problems started, I like the sound of the rails split in positions 2 and 4 but don't like the hum, my other strat has texas secials with RWRP middle pickup and i thought the must be some way to do it with a regular middle pickup and some combination of the 4 wires on the hot rails
this is what i ended up with after a few hours of soldering
Red to hot on the switch
White and Bare to ground
Black and Green to the autosplit lug on the switch
it sound great but i have no idea how the pickup is working is it still in series is it still splitting in 2 and 4 which coil is it using when splitting etc
can somebody explain what is happening.
