Anybody have an opinion on the Gibson 491T? It’s the stock pickup in my Melody Maker. I don’t wanna swap it until I’ve had a chance to crank it through my Super Reverb, but is there a magic magnet swap or anything?

That one has a ceramic magnet in it doesn't it? It would definitely be worth giving an A5, A2, and maybe even an UOA5 a try. I wonder if that 491t is just a 490t with a ceramic in it? If so, looking up descriptions of a 490t would tell you what that magnet will sound like.
