gibson 57

I just played a gibson les paul custom(with classic 57's) though my bassman head and 212 bandmaster can and it had the most beautiful tone. I want tone like that out of my sg standard. I just ordered a set of duncan sh-1's and am wondering if that will get me there or to i need to look at something else. As always thanks for the help. and i ordered the covered 59's is that going to sound different from the exposed coil ones?

Well the 57 classics have an Alnico II magnet, and the 59's have an alnico V magnet, so they're not going to sound exactly the same. I think the 59's sound a bit less scooped and a more focused than the 57's, which sounded fat to ecess to me. Also, you have to take into account the differences between a les paul and an SG when considering the pickups you want.

Covered pickups generally sound a bit smoother, warmer and less focused than uncovered pickups.

Re: gibson 57

don't like it, don't click it :)
simple as that :)

So with that you've now just tipped your hand that your just trolling and pissed over the firearm issue. Dude you gotta be 12 if your idea of combating this is to bump 10 year old threads then tell people to not click them if they dont like it. This will just make people think your a doosh nozzle if you tried actually discussing your beef you might actually get somewhere and some sympathy.
