Gibson Expert please put a value on this?

Re: Gibson Expert please put a value on this?

What would a regular LP Classic bring down under? That would be the best comparison I think of a market area value.

A 2018 Goldtop Classic with p-90’s fetches just under $3000 AUD here, but that doesn’t have the double cut or the 24 frets

I am asking about a used one with the same pee yellow inlays. My point is whatever that guitar brings over there is about the same as what you should spend for this one.

Over here that is a $1500 guitar.

I'd miss the other two knobs, too. The ability to balance the blend in middle position is part of a Les Paul's mojo. Not sure whether any of the doublecuts feature regular LP wiring, like LP Specials did until Gibson changed them. Four knobs would make one a lot more appealing, for me at east. Even two volumes/one tone like a Custom Lite.

Mine was £850 I think, in the early 2000s, but it was had been on the shop floor and the gold hardware wasn't in perfect condition.

I found this, obviously HB not P90s though:

Nice find! The only differences is the custom relic job and the p-90 pickups, I don’t think that would add 2k value onto it though?

It’s a Les Paul Double Cut. I forget what Years they were out, but the standards came with flame maple tops and new cost $1400, cheaper than a Les Paul Standard going for $2000 at the time.

I played one with hum buckers, it was uncomfortable trying to hit the higher frets and it was neck heavy- which wasn’t the case with a Hamer Sunburst double cut.

The P90 gold top was a limited run. Today worth maybe $1400.

Re: Gibson Expert please put a value on this?

I have seen HB ones with 22/24 frets. I have seen a P90 with 22

Never a P90, Gold Top, with 24 frets.

I'll go $1500 US

Exactly...4K is ridiculous but $1200-$1500 and i might be a player.

Re: Gibson Expert please put a value on this?

I've got one exactly like that but with 22 frets. I've never seen a 24 fret genuine Gibson double cut goldtop with P-90s. That doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't actually exist, just that I don't know about it.

If it is genuine and if it is rare, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I got mine brand spanking new for under $1000 US (yes, it was a great deal on sale) . As a player (not a collector), I wouldn't even buy that guitar...well maybe for $500-700 US or less if I didn't already have one and if I really wanted one and couldn't live without it, and if I wanted a used one.

If the seller is asking $4000 (in ANY country's currency), he needs to check himself into the funny farm. It's not really collectible, it's not rare, and it's not even very desirable, IMHO.
