I love Explorers when I tried the Studio I thought it was extremely light! Man, it sure does look awesome in that ivory color! Now I can't wait to get my Hamer Standard even more :( Rock on! :headbang:

The studio IS light for an explorer, because (like the PRO) the body is smaller than on a "standard" ´76 RI ;)

Hell yeah!

Its sweet. Gotta scoop the mids to get a good sound but I love it.

VERY nice Explorer. Gibson used to call the color 'Antique White'. Did you buy it new or used?.........what year is it? I had one just like it - an '84 in Antique White, and a '98 in black. Those big mahogany bodies really thump and resonate. They have a sound all their own.

got it new....im guessing its an '04. you had an '84 eh? one without the pickguard? those guitars are what got me loving white explorers. i almost bought an '84 used a few times, but im really glad i went with this.

and yeah it really does rip- im not much of a lead player, but soloing is effortless with this baby

Sweet. There is no cooler looking guitar than an Explorer.

Well, actually, mine came WITH the pickguard and three-in-a-row controls just like yours. The guitar was a post-'Korina Reissue' Explorer. I'm not sure what the factory finish was since the guitar was stripped when I bought it off eBay. The body was mahogany, and the neck was maple. It was originally equipped with a Kahler trem, but I filled the rout before I refinished the guitar, drilled it for the tune-o-matic and stop tail, and inlaid a pearl 'Gibson' logo in place of the factory gold 'Gibson' decal. A guy was selling sawed-off Gibson headstocks on eBay, so I bought a couple. I robbed one of its logo, and saved one for a future project.

I researched Gibson finishes very thoroughly before I settled on the Vintage White. THAT color on THAT guitar is the t*ts.

Enjoy yours, and don't sell it like I did. :smack:
