by the way, i like the look of the mirror pickguard. if i was gonna get a black explorer, id probably get a brushed aluminum one, but the mirror is just as badass

Is the truss rod cover mirrored too? If so, that's one of the baddest ass guitars I've ever seen!

YES, the truss cover is also a mirror! I love it.. I wish the chrome pup rings showed up better.

I pulled my pups out and they have no markings on them at all. So I have no idea what they are. Well some idea, I know what the 496/500 combo sounds like and this isn't it. So, I'm guessing they are PAFs.

pickguards on explorers look ****ing UGLY!

I had forgotten this, but when I bought "Gumby" I hated the pickguard. Mainly I hated the way it went up in between the pickups. I guess I might have tried a custom pickguard, but Gibson drilled a good size hole in the body, right between the pups.

After a decade of looking at it, I've come to like it the way it is.
