I strongly dislike the Faded Specials...they have terrible frets, a flabby neck, and basically it just feels like your playing a piece of plastic or that fake wood material.

That's also the case of many high-end Gibsons.... :laugh2:
At least, most of those who leave Nashville, as the best ones are kept there.

StratTom, the logo on the Specials are cheap decals too.

For $300 bucks, you could probably flip it on Ebay and make a hundred!

Just something to think about!

Re: Gibson Faded SG

speaking of sg specials, i looked on the gibson site the other day and they have a new pic for the special. the finish on it is amazing! its like this really deep dark wine red, a lot like the custom shop iommi. the old "wine red" on specials wasnt that good looking by far

Re: Gibson Faded SG

thanks to all. i'll wait for the new finish to debut at my dealer's...

in the mean time, i've decided to invest in the 50th anniversary strat :laugh2:

Re: Gibson Faded SG

So I just may end up buying this. Talked to the guy today and he said that he still has it and is looking to get rid of it. Looks like I'll be getting it for $250 since one of the tuners is busted. :) :cool3:

ive played 7 faded sg's, and cut my fingers sliding on the board 4 times.....a refret is a must

It may or may not need a refret. It may need to be dressed.
