Go for it. 'Birds are great guitars. I particularly love the VII. CHeck out the going price for them on Gbase.com.

I was getting the Bird gas...now it's LP Jr gas...but yeah, Birds are very kool. Saw an old pic of Jorma (Airplane) with a black reverse with white binding! Now I'm in full blown black guitar mode, I lust for it even more, pretty sure is was custom. Go for it if it speaks to ya...lucky bastid.

Go for it dood. Firebirds absolutely rawk. Especially if it has that crazy trem on it. Holy sh*t do I love that thing! (looks at least)

Did they ever make a Firebird VI?

Firebirds were odd numbered---I, III, V, VII, and the Thunderbirds were even---II and IV. Far as I know, there was never a Thunderbird VI, tho.

And , liono9, for the record, YES buy the Firebird!!! Always wanted a white III, myself.

Firebirds are the best guitars gibson makes, the neck is so ridiculously fast on them.

The Firebird V is high on my list of next guitars also. I've been looking around, but they are hard to come by. Great guitars. A lot of people don't like the balance of them, but I find you can get around that with a good quality leather strap. There are also devices that I have seen that clip on to the back strap button that give it a better balance point. Other than this minor issue think of a Firebird as a Strat on Steroids!! Great guitars!
