If you know what you're doing they work fine....I, however got frustrated and took my guitar to my local shop and had the pcb board taken out and wired up traditionally.

these work if you are good at soldering, organizing all the long wires in the cavity, and have good eyesight and delicate fingers.

If you are simply swapping Gibson pickups for Gibson pickups all you need to do is match the colors.
The problem is that Duncan, Dimarzio etc have a different color code. Therein lies the problem....you can't just match color for color.

The guy selling these says he will do the right color scheme for the manufacturer of the pickup. You just tell him who makes your pickup and he will change the wiring accordingly. I was mainly wondering about soldering the wires together. Although he says the wires are pre tined, so it might go pretty smooth. I am thinking about giving it a try.

Soldering is the easy part.

Just keep in mind if you want coil split, in/out of phase...that changes how it gets wired.

Yep. Not gonna do any of that. If I were to do that, I'd pull the pcb. I just thought it'd be cool to buy some used pickups and drop 'em in and if I didn't love them I could put the stock right back in. I'm gonna try it. I'll post back with thoughts when I'm done. Now.... Which pickups? :scratchch:
