Re: Gibson Les Paul Special Single Cutaway

I just saw one of these at Guitar Center new for 799. May be interested in buying it. Anyone have any experience with this guitar?

$799??

They are being blown out everywhere for $499 in satin, and $549 gloss.

I snagged the last gloss TV yellow w/ P90s I could find. :D

Really? My concern is the guitar I was looking at did not seem to have an ebony fretboard and the neck was bound. So my concern is that they are getting this:

Mixed up with this:

I'm going back to examine it and look at the head stock.

Ah yes... the cheaper one has the bound neck and baked maple fret board.

The unbound, ebony board would still be a great deal @ $799 new

I've got one, and it's a great guitar. I bought some Duncans to replace the stock pickups, but I ended up deciding against it. The stock pickups sound great. I can get some killer AC/DC type tones out of the guitar.

Great guitar! Too bad it's such a horrid color. I think the worst looking color on a LP is white. For some reason white looks great on an SG however.
