Re: Gibson lp -trad 2016
I own a 2010 LP Traditional, for which I researched a lot before I bought it. It's my most expensive guitar, so, as Mincer noted, I made sure it met my expectations. As a matter of fact, I sold a LTD EC-1000 to help fund the purchase, since I really wanted a LP-style guitar, as traditionally spec'ed as my budget allowed. I already new the pickups that it came stock with were a love/hate affair (Classic +57 set), but although I own eight other electric guitars, all loaded with Duncans, I actually love the stock pickups.
Actually, research it's the key featured when gear is concerned, and the gear you choose should meet the sound concept in your head (sounds dumb, I know, but it works for me). So, try the gear yourself whenever you can, and if you can't try the "leap of faith" approach.
If it doesn't work, you always have the store return policy (if applicable), or, as the last resort, internet classifieds (Ebay, etc.) so that any ill-fated investment isn't a complete loss.
