Re: Gibson LP Trad with P-90s!
the new ones arent technically "weight relieved" in the traditional sense, they are randomly 'swiss cheesed'..not a good thing. Im extremely glad my Lester is an 05(pre swissed) and a bit on the bulky side.Look, you aint gonna get premium light Honduran Mahogany no more on Lesters ( outside of the CS maybe?)so the wood what you get is just whats out there..its African "Mahogany", it isn't premium, but tis select, and heavier, and I'm willing to put up with that more than I am drilling random holes into the guitar. Not that they are terrible, but
I'd personally look around for an older guitar.
Just a fun fact I'd like to share.
Gibson has said that they've always weight relieved heavy LPs. They have even been late 50s LP specimens they have found that are weight relieved. They've been doing this forever.
