Gibson neck measurements and specs

Here's what I've dug up online from various resources, some I trust more than others, on a '99 LP Studio with the "59 Les Paul Rounded" profile.

Width at nut: 1-11/16”
Width at 12th fret: 2-1/16”
Depth at 1st fret: .860"
Depth at 12th fret: .970"
“59 Les Paul Rounded profile…” is basically a big C, right?
Fret board radius: 12”
Truss rod: Single action

Basically, I’m considering a synthesis of the LP and a Superstrat. Mahogany strat body, with a 24.75” scale conversion bolt-on one piece maple neck. I want to copy the neck on my LP Studio as closely as possible so I want to make sure I get all the measurements right. Unfortunately, I don’t have the tools to measure the neck, but “close enough” should do it. So, can anyone verify these measurements?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Gibson neck measurements and specs

I don't have a caliper or anything to anywhere near precisely measure necks.

Here's a picture showing some neck thicknesses- From L to R

Re: Gibson neck measurements and specs

Gibson neck specs are all over the place...and they even vary a bit within the same neck type/design (especially among historics)

recent/current Les Paul Studios and SG standards have the 59 profile as does the Epi Ace Frehley. Older Les Paul standards from the 90s are this same basic profile as well.

recent (2003+) production Les Paul Standards with the "50s" profile are entirely different. Less meaty and more taper.

Explorers neck profile is pretty similar to the "59 profile" but is tapered down a bit more towards the headstock.

R7, R8 and R9 profiles are completely different from all of the above. R7/R8 are the big baseball bats with little taper from body to headstock. The R9 profile has a bit more taper and is not as full/not as D shaped as the R7/8 and is more of a fat C shape. FWIW, the R9 profile is what you find on the vast majority of Lawsuits from Tokai, Burny, edwards, etc. There are exceptions on some models, but thats your basic R9 type profile. Orvilles/Japiphones have more of a R0 or "60s" profile...thinner, flatter.
