And what REALLY gets me is the listings for thier guitars.. In the new musicians friend catalog, they talk about the silverburst being reissued so that collectors can have one since the originals were hard to get and many complained they were missing them in their collections. NOT one word about it being playable.. You'd think they would at least add a last sentence and say: And these arent just for collectors, they play sweet too... But no..They are only catering to collectors now. This is the common trend in their writeups..

Pretty soon they arent going to go thru dealers. They will be availabile only thru the Franklin Mint or something.

Wow you just nailed it…I’ve been thinking the same thing lately!

It seems Gibson is catering to pretentious guitar collector snobs and trying to artificially inflate the prices of their guitars.

I could dig that Wylde V if they made a production model without the Floyd, but still with the "Custom" style inlays. One of those in white would be boss!

The Tribal V gives me a good vibe.
The Wylde V is not bad I guess.
The SG is kinda cool, but the Wilshire does nothing for me at all.
Too bad Gibson still wont receive a cent from me

I really like the Tribal EXCEPT for the tribal graphics. If there were no graphics, it would be killer.. White pup rings, Kahler. BUT... They still didnt put a locking nut on there. I wanted one of the guitar of the week explorers with the kahler (even wanted one of the Vs) but they didnt use a locking nut and I heard they were awful to try to keep in tune if you dare touch the bar..
Why overlook such a small detail?...

Because it has locking tuners, making the locking nut redundant if the nut is cut decently. Carvin used Floyds w/o locking nuts for years for example, and a Kahler is no harder to keep in tune than a floyd

Unfortunately, it also assumes that whoever is cutting the nut actually knows what he´s doing, and with what I´ve been seeing coming out of Nashville this is definitely questionable in many cases...

Those fools LOVE Zakk Wylde...blows my mind...he's got more signature Gibsons that anybody I think and for the life of me I have no idea why!?

Anyway, I actually kind of dig the SF but that volume/switch/tone lay out sicks rocks...it sucks on $199 Ibanez guitars and it sucks on high dollar SG's...it just plain sucks!

The tribal V...why? I mean, did people actually request this garbage?!

The Wilshire is killer...I always wanted one of those but they are pretty rare and about 10 years ago the price on the shot up like a rocket. Im glad Gibson saw fit to do a proper reissue however the price is just insane...making it less money than an original doesn't make it a good deal!

I am also mostly excited about the new jr...a single cut Jr, with a P-90 and a WRAPAROUND outside of the custom shop is LONG over due IMHO!

I don't understand why to complain about Gibson's prices if there are guitars as good as theirs priced in the affordable range.

If there weren't other alternatives, I could see the point, but because there ARE, I just don't get it.

That Zakk Wild freak object mistakenly taken as a guitar it's gotta be the ugliest thing ever come into production.

For that kind of dough you can have a high-level instrument custom made for you by almost any renomed luthier in the world. Why even think about a Gibson?

Looks like *****in' and moanin' became a new sport. I just don't get it.
