Gibson P-90

First off, I'm not including the P-100 or Sidewinders here, just the regular, ole P-90 ...

I could be wrong but my understanding is that Gibson P-90's are all the same. No neck or bridge model. Soapbar, Dogear ... different baseplates and covers, but all the same. Can anyone familiar with Gibson P-90's confirm this or otherwise enlighten me. Assuming they are all the same now, how long has that been the case? In other words, did they used to wind to different specs for neck and bridge and different guitars? Finally, are the current and recent Gibson P-90's any good?

ps. I don't feel entirely comfortable posting specifically about Gibson pickups here. I'm not sure if it's kosher. I'm not very active at all on other forums. So inactive that I'd probably would have to reset my passwords for lack of remembering them. At any rate, if the post is a no-no, SD mods/admin feel free to delete. I can take it.

Yes they are the same.

They are damn fine pickups. I'm in the market for a new P90 and the Gibson is up there in my short list.

You looking for a dogear or soapbar?

I do have a Sanford Magnetics on order as well, but it's taking a while.

OF all the things Gibson has NOT messed up, it's the P-90. (Excluding the P-100, which isn't really a P-90)

I HAPPEN to have Duncans in my P-90 LP, but I'd be just as happy with Gibson. Well, maybe not - I have a Duncan Custom in the Bridge, so it is a little spray as P-90's go. Still - Duncan Vintage P-90 vs Gibson P-90? Flip a coin. I'd use whatever is cheaper.

Soapbar.

I want a neck soapbar. I was thinking about the antiquity too. Or maybe a custom shop A2 polished mag job with the same specs as the vintage.

Asking because I saw some Gibson P-90's on Reverb yesterday. Looked like 3 or 4 of the Soapbars I saw were pulls from Gibson guitars and being sold by .... I wont name them here, but they are known for parting out guitars. $50 if I remember right.
