Does anyone have any experience/opinions on mid to late 60's gibson pat# pickups?

How do they compare to duncans?

And which would you prefer and why?

Re: Gibson Pat# pickups

Some sound great, some don't. They were a little more consistent than pre-'61 PAFs, because the winders had counters that automatically shut the machine off at a set number of winds. Generally speaking, the pat sticker pups are similar to the short magnet PAFs that were made post-'61. And that's pretty good. Resistance on these is usually in the 7k range. Any of the Duncan PAFs...Ants, Seths, 59s will put you in the ballpark. What you prefer is simply a matter of what works for you.
