Tho are you finding that the low E string can sound boomy, muffled or fuzzy compared to the others?

335's have a slightly softer attack than a LP, so worn strings are more noticeable on the 335, but in general a problem like that is the nut.

Most guitars come with plastic nuts, and not all of them are cut perfectly.

One thing every guitarist should own is a set of nut files. I bought the Warmoth set, and now all my guitar nuts are seated perfectly. All the guitars ring perfectly now. If you don't want to do that, pay someone a few bucks to run a file through the slots on your guitar, and I'm sure it'll clear up the muffled fuzzy sound. I kinda went the extra mile and removed the nut from mine, and put a Tusq one on. It sustains even better now. Removing a Gibson nut is a job for an experience pro, I've found. It was extremely difficult to get it out without damaging the surrounding area.

Interesting - can you elaborate on the reason for this? I'm quite prepared to take a trip to the repair shop if it'll tighten things up a bit. Thanks GJ!
