Gibson Tribute LP's- anyone scrap the pcb and install pots?

Finally thinking about pulling the PCB and traditionally wiring my 70's Tribute. For anyone who has done so on one of the Tribute LP's, did you have to use long shaft pots or did short shaft work? All I have in my stock are short shaft and I don't want to start the job without the pots if shorts wont work.

Modern Les Pauls= long shaft.

Removing pcb and rewiring traditionally is a major improvement IME.

You'll need a handy bag of tricks in your pocket but you can re-use the Gibby pots that you already have....

Yeah, need the long pots. Definitely a worthwhile project! But, is there a specific reason why you want to take out the board?

I've taken advantage of the connectors to try a bunch of different pickups that I've connectorized with the molex plugs. So, no, not really a specific reason. I'm tired of connectorizing plugs and it's the only guitar with a board so I was thinking about standardizing. But I keep going back to the Dirty Fingers ... they are too damned fun. And, I have 4 sets of pickups connectorized so I can easily swap. So now I'm having second thoughts anyway. I'll probably order pots so I have them on hand and then end up doing it when I'm bored. Or not.
